Hey there, friend! I’m Jessica — the author of the brand new children’s book, “Oh, the Seeds You Can Sow”, and the face behind From Seeds to Trees Press. I’m a former teacher turned homeschooling mama (it’s kind of my jam) and coincidentally, a tree farmer’s wife. A couple of years ago, I started feeling a tremendous call to write. I knew I would write for children, and after lots of thinking and soul-searching (and long walks down rows of trees), I knew what kinds of stories I would write.

Thanks to an adorable little holly tree and the hard work of my husband, I had my inspiration. In one beautiful moment, I realized how much my children (bless them) are so much like this tiny tree. You can’t just go throw a tree in the ground and watch it flourish without lots of nurturing (am I right?). They are a lot of work- like, a lot. They take my full attention, and usually by the end of the day, I’m zonked. I constantly worry about how they will turn out…. what kind of “fruit” they will bear. But I realized that just like this little tree had a straight and narrow stake, a constant supply of water, consistent pruning, and plenty of light…children can be nurtured in the same ways.
